Here Comes the Canadian Bride!
Saint Patrick’s Parish
Our wedding celebration will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish in Vancouver.
We were lucky enough (lucky for me and my family anyway!) to be granted a full Catholic mass ceremony even though my fiancé is not Catholic nor baptized. He was born during the Communist era in Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic).
So yes, it’s going to be a long mass when you include music and the Filipino parts of the mass.
The parish is located on the corner of East 12th and Main Street.

Fr. Vince Hawkswell, the parish priest at St. Pat’s, is a very nice gentleman.
Very real and down to earth. No bible-thumping and he really seems to care about the couples who will be marrying. He is not overly strict yet stresses to the couple the seriousness of marriage. In the midst of all the wedding planning anxiety/excitement, he really makes the point that the couple should be also be preparing themselves psychologically and spiritually before saying their vows.
