Inspiration for our Wedding Invitations

All of our wedding invitations are out! Yay!
Here is the inspiration for our wedding invitation.
I decided to create the invitations myself with only the cards printed professionally in order save money. If I had known that it would have taken 4 months to create… well… yeah, I still would have done them myself! =D

The Perfect Invitation Superstore is based out of Quezon City in the Philipipnes. Communication and the price is very good considering the detail and craftmanship. They ship internationally by Fedex. For my invitations, it would have cost me a little over $1000 for 200 invitations. This is still more cost effective than many of the invitations that we can get printed locally and those are for invitations that are not as unique.

Their website is here: The Perfect Invitation Superstore ….

Finally mailed the wedding invitations!

I’m sooooo incredibly relieved!
I have finally mailed our wedding invitations.  I originally planned to get them out early in June but it took some time to complete them.  Plus, by the time I got them over from my dad’s house to my place, I have to admit that I totally procrastinated.  Staring at a pile of invitations knowing that I had to number the back of each RSVP response card, matching the number to the guestlist entry, and then sealing the fat envelopes was so unappealing to me.
I had been working a lot of overtime hours so all I wanted to do when I got home was rest and veg… or play golf!
At last, they are submitted to the post office!

I went to my local post office a few blocks away.  I was walking so I had this double bagged white garbage bag full of mail.  I attracted some attention, perhaps because the bundle was almost as big as me.  Luckily, it wasn’t that heavy and the double bag didn’t rip.

When I got to the post…

STD = Save-The-Date

This week we sent out our STD’s.
What are STD’s?  Perhaps not what you think!  STD = Save-The-Date .
Save-The-Date annoucements are sent to invited guests to let them know when your wedding is to take place.
They are helpful for our busy guests and especially for the out-of-town guests who would need to make special arrangements for time-off and travelling.
Personally, we have 6 weddings to attend this year not including our own!
2007 seems to be the year for weddings!
It is great to know many months ahead of time when a wedding is going to take place.

Here is an example of the Premium Smilebox postcard that we sent.

Please note that STD’s are different from formal invitations.  STD’s do not have the complete wedding details such as venue addresses and event descriptions.  They are simply an announcement as to when a wedding is…
